ROCK HALL, Md. -- Two Chesapeake Bay crabbers found a rarity when checking their crab pots, a male albino blue crab.
However, because this crustacean is so rare, it won't be going into someone's crab cake.
The watermen kept the crab alive and will donate it to the University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute in Baltimore. UMBI officials say they'll keep the crab alive for genetic research.
The scientists said they might even try breeding it, if they can find a suitable mate for the unusual fellow.
