I have heard some people on this site mention they found their ancistrus sp. eating plants, but of the few different species i have kept, none have ever touched plants. This simply is because some won't eat them, and some will, depending on species. Of all the species, i don't have a list of which will and which won't, and obviously individuals are different. Just feed them mainly on vegetable matter and then hope that you got a plec that is happy to live around the plants, and not see them as food.

If your talking about these bad boys, L144, i've kept them with plenty of plants, and they did no damage what so ever... (not albino yea?)

O damn just noticed the title of the thread lol. I've never kept any albino ancistrus, so have no experience with them, sorry mate.

I've had them in a planted display for several years with the same types of plants and no problems.

ok thanks. i saw one of the plecos on the anubias today munching on it, but i guess he was just cleaning it because there is no damage at all to it. these are cool little guys(though a bit expensive) (20$ each) but worth it IMO!!!!

They will "rasp" on any surface, but its more at the bio film or any algae growing on the plant, not the plant itself :)
