Anyone kept albino channel cat in community tanks with rays, arrownas or other catfish like tigrinus cats, what are there tempermant like? How big so they get? There is a local petshop with a (7in traded in), that needs a new home as they have it in 10gallon tank with convicts and firemouths. They are asking $10 is that to expensive?

About 900gal, I actually feel sorry for the lil fellow more than anything. But yes if you can get six of them at 5in for $10, then maybe i need to offer 5 dollars then...

We have our channel cat in with a rtc, tiger shovelnose, achara marble cat, royal knife, and parrot ciclid for now. He seems to get along fine with just about everyone. No problems there. As long as your arrowana is big enough he should be fine too. Thinking that he may push your tig around, unless it's pretty good size. Our tig, just died this weekend (total suckfest!!!), but he was pretty laid back and I think that if he had been in the tank with our bigger cats, including the channel cat, he would have been pushed around. Hope this helps!

DAMN, that sucks your tig died, how big was he? As for my tig he is about 11 inches and out of all the Tigs I have had he has to be the meanest most active one I have seen to date. He snaps at my 8in Blk Bar silver dollars when they get to close and he spurs at my rays when they invade his space.
As for the Albino channel, the last thing i want is a $5 fish to kill or stress out a $200 fish, so that's why I was wondeirng about their temparmants.

my albino channel cat is very aggressive the only fish in my tank he doesnt mess around with is my red devil everyone else is fair game, he is about 9 inches long now and growing pretty good when he comes out from hiding, he can hide for days without me seeing him, i got him last year he was about 2 inches long a real tiny thing but he has grown at a pretty good rate since then.

Did not know they became aggressive, must be a size thing. I will have to moniter him as time goes on..

Our Tig was just a baby... about 5 inches or so, but we'd raised him from like 2... It totally sucked cuz they're so damn cool when they get big. Anyway, did you end up getting the channel cat? Our channel cat is the most aggressive cat in our tank mostly because he's fearless... He doesn't really get into with the other cats so much as with other kinds of fish, he thinks nothing of trying to push around a motaguensis that's about three times his size...

No, I had not picked him up yet. The stores is holding him for me until I can get my new tank up and running. Don't want to add him to an already over corwded holding tank., plus my 12in Tig does not play well with other fish in the tank now, he ate a 7 in GATF, so I am concerned if I put another catfish in a smaller space he may try and hurt him. The albino is housed with discus right now, and is pretty shy actually.
