Albino channel catfish with bioluminescence?!?

I have a friend that got a 3 inch albino channel catfish and he says when the room is pitch black, absolutely no light, the fish actually emits a flash of light down its body and does it several times before my friend falls asleep. I just went to the store and bought four more of the same group he got his from. I will be watching but is this something anyone has heard of?

I've been to the bio-bay in Puerto Rico which had very cool bioluminescence... but never seen it in a catfish. Sounds cool.

If it lights up you'll have to try and take a pick in the dark.

Channel cats do have a reflective sheen to them. Id say hes seeing the reflection of some light even if its a street lamp outside. Bioluminescence is a rare evolutionary trade, not something that pops up like albinos or short body deformities
