Hi,
I picked up an 8-9" albino clown knife a few months ago. The seller described him as an "eater", but he has been anything but. I started him in a 140g and he is currently in a 350g. He is finally eating massive and cut shrimp daily. His stomach has gone from convex to concave, but he hasn't grown much--if at all-- since I got him in April. He is probably 10" at best.

Do albino knives have a slower growth rate and smaller max size? I'm curious because this guy has an 1100g waiting for him when/if he gets large enough.

Please post pics and share experiences. Thanks!

From what I know, your average CK maxes out at around 24" long. I'm not sure if the albino variety has a different max size. The size of your tanks should be large enough to accomodate him, especially the 1100g, which should be more than enough. I had a CK, who hid a lot in the beginning but eventually came out. He was awesome when he was out swimming, but that happened mostly at night when I never saw it.

From my experience, they are just like the regular CK. They grow fairly fast. I had a pack of 4 that I kept for 2-3 months. They grew from 4"-5" to 9"-10".

And this one I kept at a later time but not sure on size. Had it for awhile since 6"-7" or so.

My guy is starting to pound massavore and cut shrimp. Every morning, it looks like he swallowed a golf ball.
