Here are some eggs I found yesterday morning. The tank has 9 albino cory's, but it also houses 7 fancy goldfish who LOVE eggs for breakfast, so I am lucky to have saved these guys! There were three on the glass of the aquarium as well, but when I went back to get them, they were already eaten!

Right now I have the 15 eggs (originally 16, but one has turned white/fungus?) in a half full 10 gallon with two air stones and a heater. I am keeping the temperature the same as the parent tank, 72F, for ease of water changes, using water from the parent tank. I also have 1/2 teaspoon of methylene blue (as per the directions on the bottle) in the water to prevent the spread of the fungus to the still viable eggs.

At first I thought they were goldfish eggs, but thankfully I've discovered they are cory eggs. I don't know what I would do with more goldfish!

As you can see, these were laid on the outflow of my FX5 filter nozzle. I'm very excited, I just love corydoras!

Awww...no love?

Come on guys! What else am I supposed to do while I wait for these things to hatch!?
Anyone have any suggestions as to how to get that Methylene blue out of the water so I can add my cycle'd sponge filter without killing the nitrifying bacteria?

Do you think it will be longer than 4 days to hatch since the temperature is so low?

put carbon in your filter. i don't know anything about breeding corys, good luck with the eggs though!

Thats cool. I really like Corys as well. Good luck !!

Thank you for the replies and the suggestion for the carbon!

I've never raised a brood before, other than Bristlenose catfish, and with those guys, I just see the babies after dad's done his job! And of course the Endler's live bearers...but you just add water to them, and you got babies!

no problem, just keep us updated w/ pics! oh yeah, do a 50% water change too.

I've been watching these eggs periodically, and saw some movement ever since day before yesterday. How exciting, I just hope I catch them soon after they hatch, so I can get the Methylene blue out of the water, and get a good filter on there!

All of the eggs hatched, but one. It was the biggest egg, I wonder if it's just taking longer than the others?

I found four more viable eggs in the parent tank today, I scraped them off, lost one in the current.

Nice. :) Long as the egg isn't moldy, it's probably still viable. I'd just leave it unless you see it start to fungus over.
