Ok,

I did a good sized water change on a starting 90 gallon, and low and behold I triggered a egg laying albino Cory cat. Ummm what 'flavor' of baby should I be expecting? She is still laying and I am trying to grab and net them as soon as they are laid, as if not, they become food for my plecos...

Any experiences?

Here's the trio currently in the tank, but I just removed them from their previous tank about 1.5 weeks ago with 2 other Cory's that I believe are a breeding pair...

The Albino is the female...

It all breaks down to recessive and dominate traits.

It actually doesn't much matter that the female is albino because we already know that she has the recessive gene for her to be "albino" It all matters if the male carries this gene. If he does then the only way that you can get albinos is if the two recessive genes hook up and in fact create the rr - recessive traits. Otherwise you will have RR - Rr -rR - rr are your different variations, with saying that it means that if your male fertilizing the eggs has the albino gene somewhere down his gene line you'll hvae a 25% chance of a baby becoming an albino.

It's the exact same biology as your recessive blue eyes you can't have blue eyes if someone on either side of your family never had blue eyes. (well unless the mailman does for some of you)

Anyways that's how I understand it! If anyone has anything contraindicating my science i'm sorry. ;)

All eggs/babies were lost but I now have a breeder tank set up and will be moving these 2 back into the living room tank with the others. I lost one, I think by goldfish ingestion, yeah they are that big, and separated the albino and peppered. They are being quarantined for a week before moving to the living room.

I will have eggs again, but now I'll be ready for them, without predation.
