These pint sized lil' bugger have done it yet again! today while I'm rocking our daughter to sleep for her nap time.. i'm watching the tank.. and holy cow.. one of the males starts enticeing the female... well by the time our daughter is passed out their is a lump of cory eggs in the top of the tank on the glass. First time I've actually watched my fish spawn. So i grabbed a credit card, and a net breeder... and have a nice clump of eggs safely encircled from the rest of the tank-mates. I actually watched a few eggs that didn't stick fall and the tetras where there waiting to eat them.. about half a dozen dropped and not a one hit the sand... the last 2 batches these guys have laid lasted less then 24 hours in the tank. I did snap some pics of the eggs on the glass, and now in the net breeder... we'll see in the next few days if we get wigglers! I know these guys are easy to spawn but i rarely try and breed my fish nowadays. forgot how cool it felt. was also one of those days when your just pondering, and I was pondering the reasons I keep fish ect.. Just all fell together nicely. well thought I'd share! any tips for raising fry would be great... like I said.. I scraped the eggs ( i'm sure a few where lost) and put them in the net breeder infront of the filters return flow. eggs never left the water. plan on useing prime reef flakes powdered until they are big enough to eat the thera A, and blackworms the parent group eats. BTW i have 2 males and 1 female... so increasing the herd so to speak in a fun way would be nice.

I don't know how I missed this, but wanted to say congradulations!!! That is an awesome accomplishment! Have they hatched? :) I love catfish egg, and fry pics! And no I didn't say fried catfish pics lol.

LOL. No, none hatched.. they ended up all being infertile =/ Hopefully next time, or at least it appears so.. I have some plants in the breeder net so i'm not 100% but I haven't seen any wigglers yet. every time I do a water change like clockwork the past 3 times they've laid eggs.
