I have 1 and honestly i love that fish,he grew from about an inch to 3 inches in a little over a month and a half,my question is has anyone ever owned 1 and found that they tended to die before they grew very large.I have kept alot of Albino ID's and never got them much over 4-5 inches before they died while i have grown many "blue"ID's to 10 plus inches.:headbang2

I use to have the same problem with all IDs that I tried to keep. They get sick at the slightest sign of bad water or stress. The two I have currently seem to be the exception to the rule. They are 6" from 2", and I just make sure to keep their tank clean as possible. I've got them eating chopped shrimp, and sinking pellets. One is almost completely silver, and the other is almost completely black. Strange, but they are still alive though lol. I tried to talk a store owner out of his two. They are about
20" each, and live in a 90 gal tall. They share their home with a larger barb of some sort. He said they've been in there for 10 years and they'll be fine, but their faces look like hamburger meat from rubbing on the glass so much. Love to put them in my pond and heal them up. They wouldn't know what to do going from 90 gals, to 1100 gals lol.

Guess this guy was an exception. He's 38'' and was kept in a 20 gallon tank for the begging of his life, which is why his nose is al bloody and beat up(from getting scared and ramming the sides :(:(:( ) I have a vid of better quality, will hopefull upload it soon. He lives in a 960 gallon tank that is five feed long. He's not mine, although i wish he was:)

Here we can get them as feeders...really cheap...

A 12" would cost u a little more than a dollar.. I don't like them because they tend to mess up the tank...
