This little guy is being sold at an LFS near me as an Albino channel cat. But to me it looks more like an Albino Asian redtail. What does everyone else think?"
Thanks.

I do believe you are correct thats its hemibargus and not a channel cat… price may help dictate also… i used to get albino channels for $3.50 as a kid in the 90’s 😂… should still be under $10 at least. Hemibargus are usually a bit more $25-30 range

Just seen them on Amazon for $135.00.
The blue channels being sold for $74.00 from a different seller on Amazon.

highway robbery 💀… wooow lol… used to save change from my lunch money and walk to the lfs to get em 😂. I had to look it up thats just crazy.

Amazon sell live fish? I thought only EBay allowed that.

Agree with the ID. We used to know this fish as Hemibagrus nemurus. Ours grew to 13" and stopped. They used to be $5 10-15 years ago. Nowadays more expensive. They are a farmed fish and we get the culls I think.

Channel cats are often sold in packages for stocking ponds. On CL and EBay I'd expect one can buy 2-3 dozen for $75.

Agree that it’s not a channel cat.
Hemibagrus nemurus as known although not an albino version of the Asian redtail cat h.wyckiodes.
This cat is a much smaller cousin. Mine too (a male) has topped out around 11-12”
I still believe that larger reports of h. nemurus are actually h.Capitulum or another similar family member.
