i bought this guy for about 14 bucks when he was about 4 inches long. what is he from reading you guys are confusing with the albino and golden. when i bought him it was called an albino.

knifefish dont have scales. looks like a gold, an albino haz zero pigmentation and looks yellowish. the spots on yours are too dark.
