a friend of mine bought an albino oscar about 2 months around 2''. It has basically doubled in size now but it is beginning to turn black. Almost all his fins are black. He was white when he was bought. Is this normal for albino oscars?

it's common for an Oscar's coloration to change considerably as it matures... I wouldn't expect an "albino" (Lutino) Oscar to turn into a normal tiger Oscar, but changes in the pattern is very common... blackening of fin tips isn't at all uncommon...

mine had its fin tips turn black at about 5 inches it is normal

they will stay black, mine have stayed black on the tips since it was 5 inches it is now 9 inches
