One of my albino Oscars seems to have so much trouble eating, he is very active, swims with the others and looks healthy but he is a little smaller/less bulky than the rest, and believe it or not the difference is becoming bigger by the day.

The thing is whenever I start dropping pellets in the tank (one by one) he is the last one to notice lol, it's almost like he just follows the rest without knowing whats happening... I can tell he WANTS to eat, he aims and then goes quickly after the pellet but always misses, and another Oscar eats his pellet. Even when the rest stop eating and go to the bottom with their mouths full, he stays at the surface begging for food but he keeps missing the pellets and they drop to the substrate, he doesn't follow them too well and seems to ignore the fact that they're right below him :thumbsdow

I didn't think much of it at first, but it happens every time I feed them, with pellets, bloodworms, and live ghost shrimp.

I also noticed after I stop feeding them, he starts following the other Oscars like crazy and eating small pieces of food that come out of their gills.

Note: this Oscar has a busted upper lip since I got him, and if you look really closely you can see what looks like mini teeth showing.

Any suggestions/opinions would be appreciated. :)

he MAY have some sort of internal parasite, which is what my little guy had and i caught it too late...but it also may be the lip..it just depends on the severity of that injury, id try some Pimafix by API if you think it may be the parasite, or if you think its the lip try Melafix. But best of luck!
