Hi,

Okay, unfortunately My Pleco seems too be having some difficulties in the tank.

I'm not able to be with my fish atm because of a house fire, and at this moment in time they've taken shelter at my friends house whom isn't very knowledgeable with fish. From what I understand It started yesterday morning, I was told that he was keeping himself too himself and being extra Lazy when compared to his obsessive cleaning self.

I wasn't able to check on the tank until the evening 18:30.. I found my fish very pale over most of his body (his head remained the correct colour), and his left hand eye lid slightly reduced in size compared to the other. I tested the tank and it gave the results of 7.5 ph and 20-25 No3, the tank was due up for a water change so i drained out 25lt from a 130lt tank and replaced, did another check and found that the No3 had dramatically reduced (as you would expect) and the Ph was more or less the same.

Possible factors to consider,
My thermometer was having issues and kept fluctuating went too 32c (89.5F) down too 19c (66F) and when i pulled it out the water it rose too 50c (122F) (which was well out of range for obvious reasons).
now, closer inspection reveled that for some reason or another water managed too get inside the unit at attack the battery and thus caused it too leak. (luckily, the recent water changed would have helped before my tank got too bad).

This basic therm said my tank was down too 21c and therefore I've had too bump the water back too 27.

Now, It is of my understanding that Paleness Occurs when a pleco is stressed, but the eye reduction indicates bacteria infection, but as the temp dropped I can only assume this might have caused a Blossom of Ich?

I was thinking of treating the tank with melafix and primafix, but i know how sensative a pleco is
so far I have only done the water change and added stress coat too the tank.

I should hopefully be able to upload a photo of him later..
but from my back story If i could get advice and others experience I would be most grateful, he is about 7" head too tail.

Plecos develope cloudy eye as well as other symptoms when the temp drops to far. Do a large water change and set the temp to 28. When you change the water use warm water. Don't treat with anythig at the moment get the temperature stablized that and clean water should bring it back.

I would expect it to clear up in a couple of days after you get the temp stable. If it doesn't show a marked improvement in two or three days or developes any other symptoms post a picture and we'll see from there.
