Ha, Couldn't resist with the title...anyway.

My albino senegal has been acting strange over the past few days. About 4 days ago I started to notice something was wrong. The albino senegal was sitting at the top on the output like normal, but when he tried to come down, he couldn't sink. He would try and try but would just float back up to the top. This alarmed me but I had many other things to worry about so I let him be. I also noticed that he had a very large belly, but I attributed that to the fact that he is a pig.

The next day he was going around the tank like normal...but still had a large belly even though I didn't feed.

Now he has no floating problems but he has been throwing up large amounts of what looks like half digested hikari carnivore pellets.

He is now in a quarantine tank but just threw up again.

All tank stats are perfect and there has been no change in his physical appearance except his stomach isn't bulging as much.

What should I do? Is something wrong?

I know this is a lot of reading, so thanks in advance ;)

Perhaps he is eating more dry pellets than his stomach can handle once they swell in his belly? This is a total speculative guess but sounds like it fits the bill. You should post a pic. All other problems I can think of are not good news. Do you feed veggies ever? Tell us a bit more about how big he is and how long you have had him...

i would also say he ate to much.. or maybe he dosent like the food...i dont know that is strange

That would be my guess as well

I've had him for about 2 months and hikari sinking carnivore are his staple. He is about 7 inches and I haven't fed vegies. A pic wouldn't do much now because the swelling has gone away and the puke is literally just liquified chunks of carnivore pellets. (gross) (oh and I do remove it right away lol)

The swelling pellets actually seems very likely... he eats as many as he can right when they hit the water.

Thanks for the input guys!

How many pellets are you feeding at a time?

There are 3 bichirs in the tank and I feed about 10 a feeding. He usually stuffs himself but his belly was abnormally large and round, and the bulge was located right under his chest (right behind his head)... normally his belly bulge goes across his whole body.
