albino senegalus growth rate

Do the albino senegalus grow? I had one a while back that I bought at 5 inches and never put on size. Now I have a 3 inch one I have had for months that hasn't grown at all. He shares a tank with a baby del who was about 1 inch when I got him and now has almost caught the senegalus. What growth rates do people experience with these guys?

I have a reg sen and its pretty much stuck at 5inches. Im sure genetics and how much captive inbreeding play a role too

I think I got lucky because my female Sens are about 8inches long but not extremely thick. I bought them at around 3 inches. Had an Albino Sen that someone didn't want and it was a male and only about 5 1/2 inches.

I've seen a regular 14" reg Senegal in person before.

I've seen claims for a 1.5 inch growth rate till about 8 inches and slow down after that. But the real answer I think is it varies. They are so bred that urs will be that size for a while. Probably have to keep it for years before it hits 8inches. Meanwhile there are a few that quick and large. There was a 10-11 inch albino for sale in the marketplace.....smh lol.

Mine grew to 8 inches fast and slowed down, got fat, and I haven't noticed much growth but I wouldn't doubt her to have grown an inch by now. Its been almost a year since she was 8" for the last time I measured anyone.

Maybe I should mention mine is a normal though. I was just adding my experience to what kno4te said.

thanks for the input. Never had trouble with the regular sens just the albino
