Heh, that too. I don't know much about the loaches, but it may be easier to ship the bichir since they've got lungs and can take atmospheric oxygen. Maybe in shallow water? (Possibly even damp paper towels like crustaceans, but I doubt it.) Check with blondie, but I'm thinking, if well fed before shipping (and if it has access to air) it might even be able to go 2 or 3 day first class.

First of all, just some advice.....

Never feed prior to shipping, causes the fish to foul the water. Generaly when I ship out I starve them for 36-48 hours prior to shipping out.

Also, I would never wrap a fish in wet paper towel. I do this when shipping SPS corals out, but NEVER for a fish. Supply enough water to cover him completely and have the rest O2.

Just MHO.

Go Floyd

at2: That would work for me. Where in indiana is he located? I'm basically stuck in south bend (on campus sans vehicle) or an area withing cab distance. I'm not sure on price as I don't think I'd be able to buy all. What are the sizes on the loaches?

BOTR: Sorry, totally forgot about starving before shipping. I did not mean to wrap the fish in a wet paper towel, but was thinking that using a mass of wet paper towel with a small amount of water on top might work, kind of like how they ship live lobsters. Thanks for the helpful info.
