Got this fish from a friend of mine who is convinced that they are bumblebee (hornet) x albino taiwan reef. In his tank he has 2 yellow labs, 1 male taiwan reef, 1 female albino taiwan reef, and 1 bumblebee. I think it looks like straight taiwan reef but then again I don't know much about rift lake cichlids and have never kept them. It's about 2-2.5 inches now.

I got a juvie Taiwan Reef and it looks nothing like this. I thought all albino got red eyes??

if you google the breed, there are some pics out there without the red eyes. I guess it could be what he says it is. I thought the same about the red eye and albinism.

for sure-someone trying to test us? he didn't breed it out of those fish. what did he buy the fish, then imagine it was bred from his fish? C-R-A-Z-Y

Seems as though his albino taiwan reef is actually a pink peacock? I'm certain that the rest of his fish are correctly identified. Could it be Taiwan reef x pink peacock?

If your not comfortable attempting to ID this fish... don't. They were in fact spawned in his tank. The majority (3/4) of the fry were very grey with some black barring and some were getting blue in the face. I have the two surviving pink ones from the batch, the other is smaller and with much less orange (maybe female).

I have ruled out the psuedotropheus crabo and the labidochromis labidochromis caeruleus (positive IDs). The remaining possibilities are the two haps. I don't have pics of them. I will try to get some soon. Thanks.
