Does anyone else love it when green algae is finally established in their system?

I mean, it means your filtration and bacterial population are established and healthy... And what more beautiful background is there for a tank than a lovely, water-quality improving, free-food-providing curtain of green? Even in my planted tanks, I allow the back and side glass to become overgrown, because it is aesthetic and functional!

Even when I do scrape the algae off, that's nothing more than a form of nutrient export!

I love my algae, and am very tired of people thinking their tank is "dirty" or "sick" (ok maybe mostly LFS customers) when it shows up.

i do enjoy the green looking algae when its on objects but on glass gah ><

I absolutely love it! It truly is a good sign of a healthy evironment for your fish.
The fry love to graze on it as well.
Check out the background in the photo below, it is 100% pure algea growth on the back glass.

Algae is fine...but not when it chokes out and kills all my plants :(

I like a light dusty green on my driftwood, other then that it shows signs of the tank parameters being out of balance.
I can make a great looking batch of pasta, but when it gets mold growing on it, it isn't good..

i love algae coz my cae's and my bns cut little tracks through it its awesome to watch!!!
