heres some pics... I can hardly see my fish, I have 1 oscar, 2 big catfish, 4 pictus catfish, 1 clown knife, and 2 sunfish in a 120 gallon

whats your filtration? lighting schedule? is the tank by a window?

quickest way would be a UV light or a diatom filter

huge water changes through out the week. clean the glass! take out the drift wood clean that bad bod too! vacuum the substrate and pat the fish on the head and tell it, its a good fishy!

lol well thanks ya'll, I will do that and posts pics in about a week to see if it looks good again... this came on so quick it was crystal clear a week or 2 ago and just cleaning the filters and moving rocks with algae on them caused this...

What kind of filters and how did you clean them?

The filters may be cycling again if you cleaned them both improperly.

Do a 50 % W/C with aged water.

Cover the tank completely to block out all light, reduce or eliminate feeding for 4 days.

NO PEEKING.

If you can get a good UV or diatom filter like suggested it will be a big help. Check your LFS to see if they have diatom filter rentals ( I doubt they will have UV's as rentals).

ew... looks like my tanks before I broke down and bought a UV sterilizer.

I tried the dark treatment, the water got green again in a few weeks.

You will have the added benefit with a UV sterilizer that it will kill off all the parasites and infectious bacteria in the water too.

In the long run it will improve your overall water quality and prevent alot of diseases/parasites.

and no more greenwater.

i had really bad green water on my planted tank when i first set it up. a UV light works wonders. about 5 days later...
