Can happen. Probably got some extra waste/nutrients that’s haven’t been fully broken down by the bacteria. Keep up with water changes and cut down ur lights. Add bacteria in a bottle.I am 3 weeks into cycling a new tank and have a sudden explosion of algae on the bottom of the tank.
Is this normal?
Correct just a surface layer on the sand substrate. Is it just on the bottom of the tank?
Can you post a pic?
Thanks for the helpCyanobacteria, possibly Oscillatoria. Keep lighting down and they'll go away. You could add some antibiotic as well.
