Anyone know of an algae eating fish that will do well in a pond for the summer? My 700~800 gal. pond is in mostly direct sunlight.
I have a UV filter for the free floating algae, but the hairy stuff still grows on my submerged plants and the walls of my pond. Most of my anacharis is covered in algae and not looking so good, and my driftwood is also covered in hair algae. Floating plants like duckweed get munched on by the koi so it doesn't get a chance to block the sun.

what temp is the pond get to and in winter cause i would say pleco if around 80 f

In the winter it stays around 50-60F. Right now the water temp in the morning is at 60F and at 12:00 it reaches 72F. By 5:00pm the water is a bit warmer at 75-76F.

monsterfishkeeper87, I did not know Garra pingi pingi is a coldwater fish. Thanks for the info, I am going to try to find some.

BTW, anyone know if there is any native algae eater fish that live in the FL-GA area?
