algae eating fish

I had jumbo size Apple snails with mine

Nerite snails and ramshorns are your best bets if you have adequate supply of algae for a lifetime. Apple snails don't make effective algae eaters. I have over 500 apples and they don't effectively eat the algae except nerites and ramshorns.

@David: i dont get flag tail in my country.they look awesome though
@Lupin and Simon: i have never had snails but i have heard that they multiply really fast and i will firstly have to go and check out in the lfs if they have apple snails or ramshorns

some snails like ramshorn and malaysian trumpet snails do, but apple snails have a certain gender and don't reproduce as fast, tho lupin said apple snails aren't good algae eaters. the fast reproducing snails need food to survive, so if all the algae is eaten and you don't have leftover food, their population will stay smaller:screwy:

elbow grease works rather well for taking care of algae...

True that. Lower food supply will keep them from booming their population. Actually I cannot even manage a big amount of MTS for my assassin snails since my apple snails readily outcompete them for food.

I'd say a Black shark (Labeo chrysophekedon) but they are murder on aros, eat off the scales..
