here are two pics of some strange algae that has recently reared its head in both my main tank and the fuge anyone have a name or info on this? If undesireable, what steps can be taken to rid the tank of it?

any easy way to rid the tank of it? or should i just let it run its course and die off?

not my caupalera, the bacteria

The cyanobacteria will run it's course eating up excess nutrients. Very soon your cualerpa taxipholia will outcompete it for nutrients.

Cyano can not atach, so if you increase water flow in those areas that will help. Also a few water changes and lite feeding will also help get rid of it.

There are products out there that will kill it, such as "red slime remover". I have used erythromycin to kill it off but it will make your skimmer go freaking crazy and your zoanthids will stress a little.

awesome, i have massive flow in the main tank. I just got a RO/DI two days ago, so the phosphates were outrageous for a while from the tap water i was using. i was hoping the H2O changes would eliminate it.
