Algae in African Cichlid tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have mostly common pleco's in my tanks. But I am sure any kind of Pleco would do the job great. They are cleaning machines. Plus a great timer to let you know when to turn the lights off.

Nerite Zebra Snails. They look cool and do not breed in freshwater like other snails and eat alge 10x more than my spotted pleco I have. The only knock I have on them is that they will lay eggs from time to time but will never hatch just get eaten by other fish or get scrapped off or dissolve over time.

common Chinese Algae Eater or golden will work. In my moms 55 tank the whole back wall was covered. 4 algae eaters later (2inches each) and 36 hours later NO algae.

<<<<<Dave hates brown algae...

how long are your lights on? or........ is it near a window where sunlight can hit the tank... two causes that may contribute as well

thanks for all the comments sounds like every one has an algae eater that works i just thought most of them would get beat up or not like the high ph
