depends what kind of algae it is. how old is your tank? test your nitrates and phospates levels, if it is hair algae it is very possible that it is feeding off of a nutrient build up in your live rock.
get a refugium and stock it with marco algae, depending on what specie you use(and what state your in) the macro algae will out compete the nuicance algae.

Isn't the "green slime algae" actually a cyno(sp?) bacteria like the red? If so, it's usually caused by excess nutrients. Don't quote me, but I believe Marycin may help erradicate it, but would not be a long term solution.
