i aparently have bright green algae in my 55 at home, when i was last home from college about 5 days ago the water was dark green/ blackish tint with redish algae on the rocks and glass. I scrubbed the walls, every piece of deco, and vacummed the gravel hardcore. i also cleaned my filter. it looked much better when i was done but it was perfect. i don't get the crazy algae bloom since the ph is terribly low. How do i deal with this. I want to avoid chemicals, but if thats what is takes. any suggestions ideas. I'll post up pictures as soon as i get home again. please help

Algae needs water, light, and nutrients to grow. Do bigger water changes, feed less and keep the lights turned on for less time.. The less light and dissolve nutrients the less the alage.
