One of my arowana tanks glass is covered with algae, so far my arowana and the 2 bichirs seem to be fine, I'm not really concerned about the neatness of my tank but i would like what would be beneficial for my fish. Is the algae on the glass healthy for my fish or will i have problem with this?

Perfectly healthy for your fish. Only need to remove for aesthetics or if it's competing with plants.

+1, manage feeding and lights, that's the cause of your algae, but really if you've got fish that eats algae like flagtail it'll be covered it no time soon.

The algae will cause no harm to your fish.Since it is a form of plant I would think that it would actually help them by feeding on nitrates that may be in your tank.

Thanks :) i like algae on glass to but should i leave a small light on at night? I think ibe read at night algae will compete for oxygen?
I used to have a flagtail but my aro decided he wanted it as food

Large Pleco, just don't keep it too well fed or it will ignore the algae. Also agree about the Flagtail, nice fish, gets large and constantly grazes algae off the glass, but not always easy to find at the LFS.

I wouldn't add another fish purely to remove a bit of algae, since they will contribute more to the problem then they would solve...

But to the OP, if the Algae annoys you, or is blocking you from enjoying the view then wipe it off, but by leaving it in there it won't hurt the tank per se, unless it gets over-run in the tank, then it may become un-sightly but should be otherwise fine...

Thanks i placed back my algae scraping magnet :) my tanks back and sides are covered with algae but i can see my fish now:) btw I'm not sure what type of algae my tank has ill take some pictures
