Hi! I just got a new neon blue dwarf gourami, but I swear it has green algae growing on its long whisker things. Is it just stuck on there or is it something else? Also I’m new here so I hope this is in the right place!

Think best bet is to post a pic.

Lol. Yup looks like some stuck on algae.

Can’t say I’ve seen this one before. I also haven’t seen most of my gouramis keep their barbels for long (but that’s another story lol), except for my current one. I have had algae grow on a skunk cleaner and peppermint shrimp’s whiskers though.

Is there a lot of algae elsewhere in your tank? Is it growing or just stuck there?
If you can catch the fish you may be able to remove it.

He’s pretty small, I don’t think I can catch him :) as long as it’s not dangerous I wont mess with it. I just want him to be happy, dosent have to look perfect
