Does this make sense to anyone as to why I would only get this brown algae only on the leaves of my plants? since increasing the plant bio load and adding fertz I no longer have free floating algae or algae on the glass or filter, only on the plant leafs.

Today I have decreased the light from 11 hours down to 9, I hope this helps.

sounds like the plant load is outweighing the fish. The way you had it was the photosynthetic reaction starting using all the available ferts due to the extended amount they were getting, the only thing lacking was CO2. If it's a brushy type of algae, then it's probably from too long of photoperiod, lack of CO2, or both. Trying adding more of a carbon supplement.

Plus, 8-9 hours is a pretty good photoperiod for a planted tank. You will start seeing issues after this.

Sorry forgot to say it was diatoms.

I does each day with 5 ml of excel, and daily with dry fertz using the EI dosing for the 40-60 gallon range. Tank size 48x16x12 lights 128watts putting out 11k lumens at 6500k we 89 CRI. I hope to be adding another 64 watts putting out an additonal 5800 lumens since some of my red plants are turning green.

This is filted with a sump using lava rocks and filter matt.
