I have algae on the surface of the river rocks in my tank. Although it doesn't hurt the fish, its an eyesore. What do you do to get rid of the algae on your driftwood or substrate (in my case, river rocks)? should I go ahead and brush them to clean them up? Muchas gracias.

soak the rocks in a water 19 parts to bleach 1 part for 24 hours then rinse well in dechlorinated water that should do it

Thanks beb, sounds like a lot of work consider there's about 100 rocks total. I'll try that if I feel industrious over the weekend.

I'm always glad when I get a nice coating of algae on the rocks:)

I love the natural look. As long as it's not slimy green algae I like it.

scrubby brush and a bucket of water....
