hey guys i got some brown algae growing on the white sand in my discus tank how do you recomend i get rid of it?

move the sand around, shift it up and keep the lights off for 2 days
some fish can do this for you.. like a geophagus of some kind.

sand sifter....geo's, gold fish, tin foil barbs...less light.

just get a Pleco from a pet store. chances are the algae will be gone in a matter of hours since the pet store probably tries to feed the Pleco feeders.

HAHAHA...

i tryed shiften the sand up but the lighit keeps the plants green so il probly get some cory cats and see how it works and wont a pelco try and suck the slime on my discus though?

i think pleco's produce alot of waste, IMO. but cory should do.
