Hey yall,
Ive been having the problem that algae is growing on my sand bed. I added a couple of my BN's to try and help with that but didnt really help. What should i do about the algae on my sand?

Buy chemical's?
Get a fish that will eat only algae? or what?!?!

Howdy,

I'd just stir it up, so that the algae are buried and clean sand is revealed.

In the long term, you should adjust nitrate/phosphate and lighting to reduce algae.

I agree with the above.

-Reduce the time your lights are on.
- Regular water changes to keep nitrate under 20 ppm.
- Add a phosphate remover to your filter (this is essential in my city because the high phosphate in our tap water causes brown algae in my tanks)

The immediate fix is to take a rod or fish net and turn over the sand so it looks better.

ya i was just turning over the sand but i will try and get phosphate remover some time soon, because the algae juist keeps on coming :[
