Algae on used tank

I have just picked a used 240 gallon tank that has algae on it but the tank will be sitting for about month should I clean the algae before I use it or just let my plecos go to town. Could algae go bad ?

You know you should clean it.
I wouldn`t start a used tank off without a good cleaning even if it looked clean.

I'd give it a real good cleaning. Why wouldnt you want your tank spotless (rhetorical question)

Clean it before you store it. Alge will crust up and will require more elbow grease to take off............
