I recently purchased a used tank and now that it is cleaned up well, I noticed a little algae or mold on some of the inside silicone. My question is, do I need to reseal the tank right away? If I use it the way it is, what are the consequences?

Well what you are going to be using tank for? I would say that just a "little" algae on the inside silicon is not going to hurt. I have algae on silicon right not. There is not need to reseal a tank if the the seal is in good repair. If its not leaking or does not have any visible damage then I would leave it along.
