I have a 55G African Cichlid tank consisting of Yellow Labs & Demasoni. All of a sudden I have a huge algae problem. Any suggestions on what I can do to get rid of it all?

Also, I'm somewhat interested in adding another species of fish, so let me know what you think would look good with my current stock.

Plecos. Algae Eaters. I believe tinfoil barbs do some cleaning of algae as well..? Those are some options to new species. Chinese algae eaters seem to just piss everything else in the tank off.

The thing with Plecos is that they make a TON of mess. I'd rather not to disrupt my vibrant pristine environment (other than the algae) :D

Size / hardness / region wise tinfoils may not work in your 55. Plecos do make a mess and contribute to significantly to bioload. Have you checked your water params?

Reduce the amount of light in your tank, both artificial and ambient.

The snails lay too many eggs, and although they won't hatch, I'd rather stay away from looking for them & cleaning them up.
