Ok I am not sure if I am dealing with BBA black brush algae, or a hair, thread, or fuzz algae. I read the got algae post by wyldfya and it was really helpfull.

I currently have a chinese algae eater, and a bristlenose albino plec. I am going to get a siamese algae eater today or tomorrow, as I have been reading a ton of good facts about them.

I do not feel good about dipping my plants in bleach or whatever, and I dont want to digup/uproot and scrub and freak out all my fish.

what else can I do to natrually get rid of it. Are there any snails that will not eat the plants. I have feeder mollys and I will put some in because I just read thell eat algae.

amano shrimp and cherry shrimp do an awesome job at hair algae, as long as theres no large or aggressive fish in the tank. Also Florida flagfish demolish hair algae

Thanks for the website links I have been trying to compare my algae to the same links, but they are very helpful. I live in florida and can catch the flagfish haha. Maybe ill scoop a few and treat them and add a few in my tank.
I have one cherry shrimp but I do have a preditar tank. But we will see thanks for the tips.

Double-dosing or spot treating with Flourish Excel can also really help with that particular algae.

I would recommend some nerite snails. These guys are low maintenance and will eat algae (not plants) and they can't breed in freshwater.

Oh nice thanks man I will see if a lfs can get a hold of them.

And I got 2 helpers one is munching away and is the other a flying fox or a siamese algea eater?
