I was considering getting a magnetic scraper for my Aqueon 36 gallon bow front, but I don’t think it would work on the curved glass. I’d assume they only work on straight edges.
Am I wrong?
Thanks!

Thanks
I usually use a paper towel, it does a good enough job on the glass, not as good on the rock though. I noticed with my ca/sa tank I do a lot better with periodically cleaning algae when I don’t have to get my hands dirty (I know how lazy that sounds).

I use the Aqueon version on my bow front 180 gal, its on the upper left hand corner. The tank is glass.

also used the Mag Float, and find if you put a piece of clothe between it and the outside glass, you get double duty

Do these commercial scrapers work on hard green spot algae? That's the only algae I have a bit if trouble with. I've been considering a metal scraper but one of my tanks is a 72 bowfront so I figure a flat scraper isn't going to be a great option there.

I use the aqueon magnet on my 60 gallon Ca/Sa tank and it got rid of everything, green, brown, black, hair. Tank is right next to a window so algae comes really fast. I’m not sure I’d it can work on curved glass though. I have a few extras (all designed for acrylic though) so I could always test if it works on my 36 bow.

With algae that has taken root in the microscopic fissures in the glass over time, it can be difficult.
These commercial type are good if used daily, or every other day to get algae that's not yet fully established, for that type I use this.

That's actually brilliant!

You could tie a microfiber cloth to a wood pole with rubber bands. Easy to clean, too. I use them to clear algae off the glass lids. Microfiber doesn't make micro scratches like paper products can.
