my algae scrubber has been running on my freshwater tank for a few months now, it now has lots of green thick algae on it on 1 side, i intend to fit a bulb at the other side, i had a cheap chinese pond pump running it, it was rated at 2200lph but it was pumping less, this pump was too loud so i bought a second hand aqua medic ocean runner 3500, it is very quiet but now my flow coming out of the pipe onto my screen is too high and its making a loud splashing noise, is there any way of making my scrubber very quiet using this amout of flow 3500lph ?

here is a pic when i just set up my scrubber with the old pump, as you can see the water runs down it nicely and smoothly, now its spluttering and splashing out

Ball valve on the output side of the pump.

i have a ball valve on the drain tube, i dont want to choke the pump apparently its not good for them, plus i want to use the full flow for extra filtering

Sorry I could not be more help...theres gotta be a way to deflect the cast off and splash.
