I think its called angel hair algae. Its Long and stringy and grows on my plants. Pretty annoying. i mean LIVE plants. so how do i get rid of this crap?

If it is angel hair algae then florida flag fish or rosy barbs will devour it in no time.

tank size, filtration, ferts used, fish/inverts in tank, ect... If something else isn't a major problem causeing the hair algae growth. ime a pair of long finned rosy barbs do a good job of handling hair algae. I say a pair as they will tend to deal out their aggression on eachother and not tankmates.. and long finneds ime tend to be much more docile then the short finned variety.

its a 29 gal. i have a GT and a Pike cichlid. Its a fluval 40 gallon filter. some kinda liquid fertilizer, shultz aquatic plant soil, pea gravel. the fish'll eat just about ANYTHING. could i pull off ghost shrimp? cause some will be eaten which isnt a prob. but its a heavily planted tank. so some should hide and live
