I don't know where to put this, so if it needs to be moved, please do so... I have an explosion of algae in my tank. Its on the glass and rocks and filter. Is there anything to put in the water to kill it that won't hurt my fish? The tank is a 30 gallon with 5 fish- a blood parrot, a convict and two clown loaches and a pleco. Thanks a bunch for any advice!!!

What species is your pleco? If it's a common pleco, it is not appropriate for a 30g. It'll eventually outgrow your tank at 12-18 inches in length on average. Their bioload is far too much for the 30g to handle. That might also contribute to your algae issues. The tank is also too small for your clown loaches in the long run.

What algae are you experiencing? Diatoms? Green spot algae? Blue-green algae? Black brush algae? Green floating water (green water phenomenon)?
What is your lighting schedule?
Where is your tank located?
Is it getting sunlight exposure?
Water parameters?
Filtration?
Temperature?
Water change schedule?
Feeding schedule?
What do you feed your fish?

Never try algae killing chemicals. Those will only kill your fish in the process as the dead algae uses up too much oxygen and also produces high levels of ammonia which can intoxicate, sicken and kill your fish.
