I have a little ten gal tank with 2 cons. I been just changing the water and cleaning the filter. 4 days ago the tank was Consumed by alge. i wasnt able to see inside the tank. So i thought i might wipe down the front tank. Did this... and today 3days from when i wiped it down.... ALL the alge is gone. all the walls and rocks and all... even out of the filter... now what happen? i just now added a plant like 1hr ago... didnt bother to see if the alge was all gone. Thanks.

How long had the tank been running?

Most new tanks have a massive algae bloom and as the tank tries to reach a balance.

The balance a tank reaches takes a long time, sometimes 6 months or more.
That's what most call a established or aged tank. Sensitive fish do better in these types of tanks.

A newly cycled tank is just barely habitable.

It could also of come from over feeding, types of food fed, lighting duration, nitrates, or your source water having high phosphates. Algae blooms are hard to pin down if the tank is aged.

It started out from the outside light... the tank had strips of alge... from the light coming trow the blinds.... i do water changes every 2 week in this tank. But it hasnt been up for more then a 2month.. it just odd that i wiped it away and now its GONe from all the places... O.o i have a established 10gal tank? lol.
