Algea on the glass!!

How often do you all have to scrape the green/brown algea off of your glass or acrylic tanks?
Mine seems to need to be done twice a week!
Is this normal with two good power heads?
29 gallon
levels are all super!!!
I have yet to get a phosfate test kit?

Well, since the tank is kinda small, buildup that often isnt out of the ordinary. All you gotta do is clean it off as much as you can. If it keeps coming back in the same quantity, then you need to find out why it is like that. Do you got any live plants? Do you do any overfeeding, do you have the lights on too much? Find the source of the problem and correct it and yuour algae should get under control. Whatever you do, dont use any chemicals that destroy algae.

The green / brown algae is very common on marines. Mine is done about every other day with a mag cleaner....

get some snails and they'll do the job for you!
i got a 29 gal. with a 55 gal filter. some sun shines through the windows and gets algae on the sides. but it aint that bad just to where i have to clean it once a week.
