Algea problem on java moss

I have this long (2-3in) brown stringy hairlike algae on my Java moss only... Wasn't there a few days ago now its on all of my moss... Any Ideas what the problem is???

The tank is newly setup. Probably not even cycled yet. I have 2.6 wpg lighting and pressurized C02. I have only added old tank water from established (non planted) tanks to add nitrates. No ferts added yet. Am I doing anything wrong???

How much time you keep the lights on and feed them

8 hours. I feed 18 bloodfin tetras 1 time a day and the food never hits the bottom.

I had the same brown material cover a piece of spiderwood I purchased a couple weeks agos. Curious as to what it is exactly as well.

Possibly might be a fungus from the wood that just happened to cover the moss.

The algae is 10X worse now. I think i'm gonna toss the java moss in the trash in the next day or so if I can't come up with a solution...
