Their is a lot of topics regarding algae in a aquarium setting IE If its healthy or unhealthy . This is my 55 show set up the tank is 48" long and 12" wide and 24" deep I run 2 [at] 32watt each 6,500k and 2 [at] 32watt actinic so 4 lights total on the tank 2 septate balusters all lights 48' just like tank ,

My question is ? IS THIS A HELTHY ALGAE BLOOM In my tank tank 4 weeks old with all the rite/Healthy watter change ? DOSE THIS Look rite to u guys ?

You think that's an algae bloom?

Algae uses nitrate as food, it's a good thing, just need to scrape the front glass.

I concur... i also like the phosphate and other useages... not to mention natural grazeing for any and all vegetarians or omnivores in the tank... I too just scrape the fronts of my tank. If i get an abnormal bloom i check water perameters... excessive nutrients = more algae ect. a natural early warning/detection sign.

why actinics? personally i'de pop in some 10k's. actinics as far as i'm aware are used for SW set-ups mainly not fw.

The only reason I went with the act lights is to pop the color of my fish . And as far as the algae goes I have two ta.ks wit two diff kind of lighting , One tank hase very bright green stringy algae and the pics abouve tend to be a little morr brown
