i have some green algea growin on some of the gravel in my tank how do u get rid of this? do i need to take out the grtavel and scrub it or wat can i do?

Is this a thick carpet of algae? Does it have thread like appearances? Is it in small spots? Did it grow large amounts overnight? Is it easy to remove by hand, or not possible to remove by hand? Answer these and I can tell you a way to get rid of it.

often you can remove it with a siphon(and a magnetic glass cleaner if on the glass) and a prevent it with a water change(I've found that cleaning the filters can help sometimes).
but I agree with WyldFya, sometimes getting rid of it depends on what kind it is. I've had many kinds of algae, some are hard to get rid of and some are easier.

gravel vacuum, go to walmart and get one they are like 6 dollars

That sometimes works on cyanobacteria, blue green algae, but not on any others. It will only bury the algae as the substrate is stirred. Given a few days for nitrogen to rebuild in the tank then the spores of algae will bloom again, and the problem is back. Most types of algae will not be removable by means of gravel vac.

chineese algea eater for 1.50 or a gravel vacuum for 6.00 at walmart

Once you scrub and get as much off as possible along with a couple big water changes, I would go buy a UV Sterilizer.

That's what they're for. You can buy different sizes and they arent too pricey. They're worth the $ if you have algae problems.
However, they DO NOT completely illiminate green hair algae, but it will take care of any free floating algae you have.
