I have a 180g tank setup for african cichlids. No malawi or anything like that, just a colony of frontosa and some passive haps. I want to get some predators for the tank that wont really bother anyone else and wont be bothered. I already have a polypterus in there and plan on getting two or three more. But is there anything else that would go alright with Frontosa and survive the alkaline enviroment (its usally at 7.8).

Reticulated Pimelodid 100 or more gallons tank large, nocturnal predator that will eat any swallow able tank mates. but good with large cichlids

Pimelodus maculatus A group fish that gets along well with large community fish, such as Angels or other Cichlids

Sorubim lima Shovelnose Catfish An active nocturnal predator that will eat smaller tank mates. Combine only with other large, hardy fish

BR WARNED THIS ONE" reaches a large size and must be fed live foods"

all like pH 6.2-7.5 (6.8), 6-18 dH (8), 72-86°F (22-30°C) but will not have problem with your PH
