What is the best things to include in a COMPLETE diet for the amphilphus species? I've kept them for years but would love to hear what everyone thinks. The more feedback the better!

Also, can you feed them flowerhorn specialty diets?

i feed my barred citrinellus:
- prawns
- hikari bio gold
- blood worms
- mysis shrimp
- cantelope

basically i feed him a lot of stuff.
i feed him hikari bio gold everyday, twice a day though.
i throw in one of the items listed every 2 or 3 days.

he eats about a small handful of pellets everyday.
he's my only fish =)

A prawn is a type of shrimp.

I wish mine would eat cantelope or any veggies. I just ordered some hikari excel and i hope it will provide some vegetable matter

Mine is an stupid A**, He dont jump for food straight away. He comes for food but waits some times. currently on cichlid pellets CP, and frozen shrimps.

NLS pellets makes up 90% of my feedings. A little frozen mysis and some Omega veggie wafers makes up the rest. I've messed around for years with other more exotic foods with no better results (and usually worse results). My fish are all outside, so they get the occasional insect I suppose, and they MAY be grazing on algae, etc. too.

The better pellet brands offer pretty complete diets now (didn't used to be the case).

Hikari cichlid gold and bio-gold
Massivore
spirunila wafers
krill
earthworms
lettuce, cucumbers, and peas
