Here goes my baby Salminus Maxillosus aka Golden Dorado.

He is 3" and growing like a beast. I got him last Friday and he has grown 1/2" already:naughty:.

I feed him 3times a day... Live blood worms, Brime shrimp, Pellets, Beef Heart, Flakes, Guppies, Frozen Veggies (from a variety pack) and Freeze Dried Krill (small pcs).

I have to say, so far... I am Loving this fish!

When I first got him, he had no color on his tail. Now, he has red and yellow showing in almost his whole tail:naughty: (Pics dont even show a lil of it:irked:)

Yeah, but I have to say... I always wanted a Pred, swimmer, and an aggressive fish. And I actually like the way this guy looks too:D. I really do like this Speedy Gonzalez fish:headbang2. I dont see my self selling this guy... but you never know

I dont think these guys are delicate. They seem pretty hardy to me, then again I dont think Armatus are delicate

As someone who has now killed 6 Armatus and am down to 1 I say they are VERY delicate. Very easily wounded.

These Dorado are definetly lil speedies that's for sure.

Kinda messed up to have a flake eating pred....... This is definetly a first for me.

hmm wait till I get my order in and get my lil torpedo...Lol :) Im soooo excited! how thick are they anyways? or how tall?

mines coming tomorrow, they are very hardy IMO
eat everything, aggressive, dont get stressed, I just need to keep my kelberi full for a week so that the dorado can catch up in size

Ohh ok thats a relief! :nilly: How are they though when in transit to yur home when being shipped? Do they come in ok?

Mine came in fine. Eating flakes within a few hours. Tough lil SOBs. I garentee if any Hydrolycus looked the way a few of mine look right now they'de be circling the drain..... These guys just keep eating and punking eachother.... Doesn't seem like torn fins and missing scales bother them.

My guy has yet to punk anyone in the tank (KNOCK ON WOOD). He is with some Gars, barbs and about 2-3pcs of feeders.

Shipping was fine, he didnt stop attacking the bag...lol also ate about 1-2hrs after acclimation was donr

their appetite is amazing, and they are smart fish, I have said it before, but the one thing george from Shark Aqarium always said was that they learn their tank and rarely slam into the glass even though they are so fast. however they do strike their food very hard.
