in this photo and others you can see my 6.00 worth of walmart fake plants, i drilled holes in slate, siliconed the plants in to the holes and then covered the slate with silicone and covered the slate with black sand. one reason for the slate is that my ray will literally rip the plants to death and within 10 minutes they will be floating somewhere in the tank, and if she blows the sand fron the base of the plants you cant tell.....

then i hooked up an auto water changer

this is the main water feed passing through a filter.......

then up to the valve....
HPIM1095.jpg

thats hooked to the timer that pumps 2 gallons into the tank 6 times a day....

out through there through a check valve.....

then into the tank via my pvc spraybar jet thingie i made.....

then i drilled the back of the 180 and installed a drain, 1 1/2 inch elbow with a vent cap for a strainer......

Very nice wood work! My question is the same, how much fresh water are you running? I guess not a whole lot or you wouldn't have a canister... What is the black bucket across from the canister running? I see there is a line out of it.

sorry about dyi diy thing..... i work nights so i am tired in the morning....

The canister is a temp thing I am either going to put a wet dry on it or 2 fx5's not sure which way i am going to go...

the water changer is set up to pump 2 gallons 6 times a day = 84 gallons a week, the fish love it. i still have to clean the tank as normal but no more 50% water changes with a python twice a week. best 60 bucks i have spent yet. very easy to do just takes a little time.

thanks all for the kind words...
